Generate new ideas in shale reservoir characterization to reduce uncertainty in volumetric analysis, well location spacing and drilling stimulation requirements directed toward delivering repeatable, commercial well results. Resolve characterization of multi-scale sedimentology, litho-and-sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and geochemistry; integrate petrophysical and geomechanical properties to identify and map stacked lithofacies and parasequences. Develop and update strategic criteria for new plays entry while evaluating asset/corporate acquisitions, farmins, open acreage leasing, etc. Provide guidance for geoscientists and petrophysicists including such focus areas as 3D seismic (survey design, acquisition, processing and interpretation), pilot well planning and evaluation, monitoring new play development, providing key insights on play emergence and strategic advice. Conduct assessments, lead peer reviews and stay abreast of industry activities and technology developments.

MS/PhD in Geology or Geophysics with a minimum10 years applicable industry experience. Candidate must have technical skills in resource play analysis including: geology (mapping, constructing cross-sections, etc.); geophysics (seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation systems, attribute analysis); geochemistry (understanding and application of key parameters in resource/reservoir characterization, e.g. TOC, Tmax, Ro, kerogen content, etc.); petrophysics (logging program recommendations and analysis results understanding); rock mechanics (principals and utilization in assessing drilling/completion designs and reservoir/well performance expectations); reservoir engineering (apply basic reservoir engineering concepts in technical evaluations); economic evaluation and risk analysis and ability to integrate newly acquired subsurface information into interpretations. Candidate must be self-motivated, creative, results-oriented, with the ability to drive projects from start to finish.
