Christopher M. Paulsen

Chris Paulsen is the company’s Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, a position to which he was appointed in May 2023. Prior to his current role, Paulsen served as Vice President, Business Development, for Pioneer Natural Resources from January 2013 through May 2023.

During his tenure in this role, Paulsen has held roles of increasing responsibility in Business Development, managing more than $5 billion in upstream, midstream and oilfield service transactions located in the Permian Basin, Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast, Alaska and Rockies. In his current role, Paulsen’s team is responsible for new business origination and evaluation, as well as select non-core monetizations. Since joining Pioneer in 2002, he has served in various areas including investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, operations and subsurface.

Prior to joining Pioneer, he worked for SBC Communications in planning and treasury.

Paulsen received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and his Master of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
